Chopin Year 2010

2010 sees the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frédéric Chopin, Poland’s most famous composer. Especially Warsaw, where Chopin was born in 1810, but also Cracow are dedicating themselves entirely to classical music this year. This is an opportunity for all to discover Poland from its musical and tourist sides.
Warsaw is a city in transition that offers breathtaking contrasts: on the left there are the older more historical districts; on the right we find a growing skyline of glass towers and giant shopping centres as well as a vibrant arts and culture scene.
A variety of concerts and festivals are being held this year to honour Chopin, the Chopin Museum is exhibiting a number of Chopin-related memorabilia, and a Chopin ballet celebrates the life and work of the great composer. More information about all the events is available at www.chopin2010.pl!
